About Wild Lavender Flower Essence
Lavender thrives in the hot dry intensity of the Mediterranean summertime where the species originated; with its aromatic fragrance becoming more pronounced as the heat and dryness intensifies. When this type of lavender is made into an essential oil it is known to be more hot, pungent and spicy, and therefore more dermo-toxic, than its more well-known sister, Lavendula augustifolia, used more often in aromatic botanical medicine. Traditionally in herbal preparations, lavender was used medicinally for burns, skin afflictions and as a nervous system calmative due to its cooling, soothing and protective healing talents.
Lavender also has a tangible relationship with the metal element, which is related to the function of the Lungs and Large Intestine in Traditional Chinese Medicine. These two organ systems are related to breathing in (receiving the breath) and letting go, and to our protective armor giving rise to healthy boundaries and immune strength. On all levels they are related to letting go of waste, the unprocessed and outworn in our lives, leaving us receptive to the pure and new.
The metal element is responsible for controlling and circulating the Wei qi or Protective Qi within the body, specifically at the surface of the body, which acts as a type of protective armor. Its main function is to circulate throughout the body guarding and protecting. It is functionally related to the immune system and more specifically related to our mucus membrane immunology. In this way, our Wild Lavender flower essence energetically guards and strengthens the Wei qi, protecting from stress of all types. Most certainly, the 'wildness' of this lavender contributes to its highly protective quality and can be seen in its robust and sturdy presence. Wild plants typically possess a higher level of life force or prana over cultivated plants due to greater levels of adaptability needed to survive in ever changing environmental conditions.
Our potent Wild Lavender flower essence can not only strengthen us from the inside out, lending us its impenetrable protective shield, but is notably relaxing and restorative, calming states of nervousness, tension and irritability. This strong and fierce feminine force, encourages us to protect and express our own inner truth and wisdom with clarity and confidence.
