    namaste mary!

rosalina and nerolina are relatives of tea-tree… both with great antimicrobial properties and a more pleasant aroma… i have also had great success with cinnamon, but i would warn against small children and animals coming into contact with it… or your skin. *wink*

i know it might seem contraindicted to put MORE water in there, but a good wiping down of all moist areas with a good e/o solution can help it from growing in the first place.

much light to you and yours.

    Hello,
my doctor said I should take eukalyptus and juniper essential oils 100% natural internally. Are there any types of these two oils on floracopeia.com which are safe for taking internally or anywhere else if not here ?

    namaste ashley!

well, here’s my take on this anyway–

from my understanding, social anxiety is based in either a microbial concern or a judgement concern (remember, i am only speaking from my understanding, so this could be glaringly simplistic….)

so… if it is a microbial thought process, any of floracopeia’s community immunity blends would be perfect to annoint yourself with before traveling out.

if, however, this is fear of other’s reactions, interpretations or judgements– there presents a whole array of oils to choose from. i would recommend one that firstly centers, calms and envelops the person with security and love. some examples (although these are my choices– psychoaromatherapy is highly individualised… in other words, you would want the person to go on an aroma journey to discover that aroma) would be: rose, frankincense, german chamomile, geranium (the geranium/rose co-distillation would seem a perfect fit.)

secondly, the first use of this oil in a social setting is going to ‘imprint’ the aroma so you would want to do this where the person already feels comfortable… yet public. like a park or the front lawn, or somewhere the person is gradually introduced to being around others and in an open environment.

with increasing exposure to increasingly public or social interactions, you can always add oils until a full blend is created… for example, frankincense to ready the self for a new experience, rose to open the heart chakra within the presence of people and maybe down the line another floral or citrus to extend the aroma complexity as you extend the social complexity.

i hope this makes sense and is of some help.

much light to you and yours! einsof

Aloha! I am wondering if anyone has information about essential oils that are beneficial to children with Aspergers Syndrome, a mild form of Autism. My nephew is 6 years old and has been wearing a medicated “patch” that has some regulating effect on his behavior and I would like to offer him a more natural remedy. Mahalo.

Hi! I am wondering if someone could recommend articles or other information concerning the therapeutic use of essential oils with animals (pets) – i.e. safety, dosages, dilutions, etc. Many thanks!

I have recently read that vetiver is used to help calm children with ADD when applied daily to the back of their necks. I have a child who is taking medication to help him focus on his school work. I would like to know if others have used this oil and the results that they have had. How would you describe the scent? Would an eleven year old find it pleasant?

    Thank you.

My experience is that oils will be helpful, and I have seen equal parts lavender/orange oil work well to create a sense of calm and peaceful energy as these children become afraid or excited easily. Lavender/ylang ylang also works for others. I also have used a mix of oils on the nervous system to help them strengthen it. However, that will not do it alone. Check out Waldorf school techniques of movement games – it helps work through the limbic system issues and stimulate the mind and body to work productively. Also, brain gym is a good exercise to get the body and emotional mind working together better. If there is someone on the island who does Neural organization Technique and/or BEST technique — these are wonderful for addressing the thoughts/emotional issues that are blocking their growth. There is usually a nutritional component in their digestion. White sugar, white flour, additives, preservatives and food dyes are culprits, but there may be more. They are usually challenging eaters and have sensitivities to heal. An alternative practitioner, Holistic practitioner that you trust could guide through this. Working with the child spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically all at once seems to be the best method for helping them heal.

Many blessings to you and your nephew.

I was wondering if there were any essential oils that could be applied directly on the thyroid gland that would be helpful for hypothyroidism? I don’t like taking thyroid medication, even the natural one Armour and it’s getting harder and harder to come by. Sea vegetables and coconut oil just aren’t enough to bring my thyroid to a normal level.

I have a the electronic eo ionizing diffuser that allows you to place the drops in water for diffusion. However, my favorite way to use eo is to smell directly from the bottle, leaving a drop on my septum, which works for most oils I use, though obviously not the skin irritants. So, is this as effective as a diffuser? So far, it works realy well for me.

I have a very dry patch on my forehead, upper lip and sides of my mouth. The skin is very tight and flaking, can be itchy at times as well as an iritated burning sensation…what essential oil and application (compress, steam) is best to relieve this condition?

I have been using Ratuma oil with blends of EO per each person’s situation. A couple of my patients get very congested when I add the EO’s. I think I am using too much oil and am trying them with lower concentrations. Has anyone else experienced this? FYI: Three of my patients are elderly women and I used EO’s such as frankincense, myrrh, lavender and cedar

    namaste lis!

dry patches respond wonderfully to very diluted (2-5%) of myrrh or frankincesnse in any organic base, although i give preferrence to apricot kernel oil. alternatively, you could use a dab of any of the marula infused massage oils!

    Fredrik:

There are many combinations of oils that could be helpful to you. Lavender and clary sage are wonderful for calming and clarifying the emotions. 1 drop clary sage, 1 myrrh, 2 frankincense and 4 neroli in 2 T of jojoba placed upon your wrists, throat, and brow will clear your emotions and reopen your spiritual perception. After doing this it is a wonderful time to meditate and listen to what changes you want to make in your life. Or try placing a few drops in your bath and then close your eyes and allow your inspiration to flow.

2 drops lemon, 2 drops pink grapefruit, 1 galbanum, 2 orange in 2 T of jojoba on wrists, tops of shoulders, around the back of ears will lighten your spirit. Make a larger ratio and massage your whole body in it and you will feel energized and the stagnation in your emotions (and lymph) will begin to cleanse. Do this every few days until you are feeling clear again. It may help you to write a list things that you feel sad about, people, circumstances that you are letting go of, find it in your heart to love them and let them go out of love for yourself.

After you give yourself a body massage, take a few minutes and write the top 10 things you really want to learn about, accomplish, or create in your life. Carry this list with you and look at it frequently, reminding yourself of your great purpose and goals.

For anxiety, roman chamomile & lavender, will calm and clear your thoughts before bedtime so you may have helpful dreams in moving on in your life.

    Best wishes.

    namaste jennifer verhoog!

what concentration of e/o’s are you using? effective dosage can be as little as 2%.

  24. einsof says:

    namaste fredrik!

a routine of pranyama (breathing exercises) may be very helpful for “monkey brain” or rushing thoughts. a simple one is to breathe out twice as long as long as you breathe in… for example- if you inhale for a count of 5, then breathe out for a count of 10. do whatever number feels natural and comfortable.

this can be enhanced with the palm method of inhalation, as described here on the website.

some oils which may be beneficial might include: clary sage, neroli, marjoram or sandalwood.

    much light! einsof
