Hi
A while back I wrote about the effect Palo Santo had on a friend of
mine…well, the story continues. That friend was at David’s talk in
Asheville (Malaprop’s) and she had been trying to wean off Zanex. She
couldn’t let go of the sample stick and all the way home and the next day
(she left that afternoon to go back to NY) she was happy and almost
childlike (in a good way.)
Then a student in my Aromatherapy class said she suffered from depression
and was on meds. I mentioned Palo Santo. She ordered some and has had
significant change.
Then…I was making a blend for a massage client and the bottle of Palo Santo
was on my desk. I began to smell it, even though I hadn’t been
smelling it before and it was unopened. I realized I shoudl put it in my
clien’s blend…as she has suffered from depression and anxiety and is
going through a rough divorce. She loved the blend, I mentioned Palo Santa and
she bought a small amount from me. She called me this evening and said that at
certain moments during this stressful day, even though it is still in the
bottle, in the plastic snack bag, in her purse, she would suddenly smell
it.
Okay! Time to clue us in to what is really going on with this special
plant!
At my recommendation, Kelly Holland Azzaro contacted David to do some
profiles for NAHA’s online journal. I would really, really love to see
Palo Santo as one of those since there is no written info on it I could
find…even Sylla Sheppard Hanger hasn’t experienced it.
(Just finished “In Search of the Medicine Buddha.”) Oh, and let’s discuss
coming to Greenville SC in conjunction with the Charleston trip next
spring!!)
Many thanks and blessings,
Shellie
I bought my first batch of essential oils a few months ago. The service was wonderful, the response generous when I had a question about the neroli. I have especially enjoyed using the wildcrafted Ethiopian Frankincense, the Bulgarian biodynamic lavender, and the organic Kashmir lavender. But my special pet is the Colorado Pinon Pine. Totally delicious and uplifting, beautiful to blend with other herb and evergreen oils to create a scent of western mountain meadows. To use these oils, to read about the places from which they came, and to know that these are all good for the planet, good for both producer and end user, makes me very happy. I have also been enjoying dipping into the wisdom of David’s book, In Search of the Medicine Buddha. I couldn’t make to the conference in Asheville in August, but I definitely plan to make a journey in 2009 to a conference or presentation by David. I am also looking forward to buying more of the beautiful Floracopeia oils in the near future.
Blessings

David,
I just returned from India taking a 16 day workshop on essential oils and ayurveda with David that was incredible. I have used essential oils in my practice for probably close to 20 years. His oils are truely the finest I have had the pleasure and oppourtunity of using. Also his knowledge and working with local farmers in a sustainable way in the distillation process of these precious oils is a very rare gift he generously shares with all.
The wafting scents of fresh jasmine flowers and oils in the van as we traveled was intoxicating and fabulous! What an experience. It will continue to warm the cockels of my heart for a long time.
Thank you so much David.

Hi Myra…
Thank you for the nice comments, and for your presence at Rasa. It was indeed an extraordinary journey!
I will be posting a series of blog stories in the next week or so, with links to some of the photo galleries. In the meantime, the February trips are almos full, so we are expecting more aromatic adventures soon.
David
Dear David,
I had a complete 180 turn around experience when I sat in on a lecture you were giving at the Ecogift festival. I work up that morning with particularly bad allergies, and a rather depressive mood. When I sat down and started breathing in all the different essential oils passed around my allergies gradually calmed down, and my mood perked up. The Palo Santo oil in particular really helped give me an emotional uplift that carried me blissfully throughout the day. Now at home I enjoy using the Diffuserglobe with the Orchard diffuser blend to add sweet uplifting scent throughout my room. Thank you so much for all the information on the different oils, your patience in helping me find complimentary oil, and for creating not just a high quality product, but also one that supports nature.
Blessings,
Maya
Dearest Friends at Floracopeia,
I just bought my first bottle of biodynamic Bulgarian lavender and had the most amazing experience inhaling it directly from my palms. I was in no way new to lavender since I had tried other brands before (not from Floracopeia) and had pleasant but not earthshaking experiences (these oils were also organic)…
Well, to make a long story short…because of adrenal exhaustion I have been trying to be diligent and rest during the day and go to sleep at the same time every night before 10:00PM (often without much “success”)…I was sitting on my sofa in the early afternoon, I opened the bottle, inhaled and pretty much just FELL ASLEEP…for those who know ME…this is short of a miracle.
My 5 year old son is very fond of this little bottle and brings it to me at night asking for a drop on his pillow…he puts his nose right on it and exclaims “mami, it smells like a forest”….
I have more oils that are becoming quick favorites…I’ll write about them later…
David, thank you for sharing Mother Earth’s gifts with us…
Tiziana (who will very soon need a little lavender)
These stories I am reading are quite parallel to my experience with Floracopeia’s Palo Santo essential oil. After a friend returned from a trip out west with a small stick of what we called “sweetwood,” I began research to find out where this powerful & pleasant wood came from. When I learned the name of the wood from a man in Jamaica who smelled the stick I was burning, I began to search for sustainable sources of this medicine. I created a salve containing floracopeia’s essential oil to help my father, who suffers from severe arthritis in his lower back, and was recovering from spinal fusion surgery. He is now recovering leaps & bounds further than his surgeon had ever imagined! But the real delight is that my mother who has suffered tension headaches & weekly migraines for decades has found that putting the salve on her neck & shoulders in the morning keeps her body from developing any tension in the first place! She has suffered far fewer migraines, and has noticed that they tend to occur when she hasn’t used the salve. I truly believe in this medicine’s ability to heal nearly anything… and it is good to know that those supplying medicine to healers have put their hearts into bringing products of the highest integrity for the greatest common good. That is medicine in itself. Thank you!

Recently recieved ROTUMA OIL..an impulse buy…
It has reduced two small patches of eczema on my hand. Soothed the dry flaky skin of an eldery patient who can’t reach her back.
Intriguingly a patient and two friends who had recently been tatooed complained of heat in the area of their tattos. Since the oil is antimicrobial as well as recomended for skin care i applied it to all of the new skin art. it was used several times each day for two weeks (as suggested by the tattoo artist). The heat was reduced, the redness reduced, and no hint of infection was noted.
The peeling of the area was scanty. The skin was beautifully lubricated and healthy.
please keep offering this great oil. It has a wonderful earthy scent.
i wonder if it was used ethnobotanically for the care of tattos in the polinesian tattoo culture???
As always Floracopeia products are of excellent quality, beautifuly presented, and with an intelligent and ethical heart.
Thanks
This is a short story about scent and memory…
Right before Christmas I bought some saffron perfume…sounded exotic enough to make me want to try it. When the package arrived and I opened the bottle my first reaction to it was “what was I thinking???”…Christmas and all the festivities went by and the little bottle was forgotten.
In January, in a vague attempt to declutter my home, I came across the little glass vial again but this time…I couldn’t put it down! My son, who’s always interested in finding out what magic potion is contained in those curious looking little bottles, took a whiff and exclaimed “It’s grandma’s rice…”
I almost started crying. I grew up in northern Italy and a staple in my diet was the “yellow rice” my mom made for us by dissolving saffron thistles in hot water and boiling down arborio rice with it until the rice became bright yellow and very fragrant. She used to drag me to all the open markets to buy the little yellow flowers always commenting on how “it was as expensive as gold”…I witnessed countless grocers weight it on tiny scales just like gold and wrap it in glassine envelopes…
My mom would do the rest of the magic with her cooking. I remember asking for HER yellow rice every time I had my tummy ache. My son traveled to Italy for the first time when he was just a few months old and had his first bite of yellow rice when he was two or so…I guessed he never forgot the scent…I consciously forgot but my body seemed to have stored this memory deeply… it wasn’t until I smelled your perfume that all of this came back to me:)
Thank you for keeping this memory alive.

Today, I did a treatment for a man in our community who is in the final stages of cancer, which is now in his spine. Even though David has taught us so much about the uses of the various essential oils, often, I just use my intuition. I used Frankincense and Marjoram on his spine. He is on oxygen and his breathing has been quite shallow. During the treatment, the patient began breathing deeply and afterwards stated the he felt so much better. He got up off the table and wanted to go to town and said that he wanted to start doing green drinks and was motivated to “turn this thing around”. There’s no guarantees, however, if someone can feel a moment of inspiration and relief from suffering, that’s a wonderful thing! This is just one testimonial of how powerful these medicines are on so many different levels. Thank you!
I purchased a bottle of the vanilla-infused marula oil several months ago. I highly recommend this product! First, because it has the most delicious vanilla aroma I have ever smelled in my life! Second, I had no idea how well the marula would absorb. I have used other body oil products and have always had an issue with “left-over” on my skin and feeling oily. I am amazed how well the marula aborbs into the skin.
I just wanted to mention how much I enjoy your Silver Fir essential oil. It has always been one of my favorites. Now I’ve incorporated it into a nighttime diffuser blend that has helped me clear up a very long respiratory infection this winter. I add 5 drops of Silver Fir, 5 drops of Lavender, and 2 or 3 drops of Frankincense to an ultrasonic diffuser that I set to run all night in my bedroom, dispersing for 5 minutes every 20 minutes. It smells wonderful, supports my lungs, and is not too stimulating (like eucalyptus, which I would use during the day). In fact, the lavender and frankincense also help me relax and sleep deeply.
Contemplative Aromatherapy:
David Crow is undoubtedly one of the single most important teachers of our time. His distillation of the teachings of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Tibetan Medicine, Buddhism, Biology, Chemistry, Ecology, Botany and Yoga was nothing less than sublime. His depth of knowledge and capacity to bring the entire group into DIRECT perception of the elemental qualities of Nature through his extraordinary Aromatic treasures and medicines made this a unique, delightful and profound experience. Never has the awareness of our interconnected relationship and dependence upon Nature been as important as it is today. David’s masterful weaving of personal stories, history, scriptural teachings, scientific research and traditional meditation practices inspired us to deeper levels of commitment for sustainable living on this magnificent planet and for our need to return to traditional medicine to heal ourselves, our communities and our planet. You don’t want to miss this workshop!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for offering that inspiring tele-class on Saturday, 5/9/2009!
I ordered the “Community Immunity” Forest blend along with the Diffuser World diffuser Jai Dev recommended. The diffuser is a little noisier than I expected, but it is indeed very easy to clean, has a built-in timer, is small enough to fit anywhere in my tiny NYC apt, and there’s no bright light (like the Ultrasonic, which I also like very much except when I want darkness).
The Forest blend is lovely, a light, perfect balance of scents. It creates a beautiful atmosphere, feels clean and fresh, and also feels like it is indeed supporting my breath.
I’m so grateful I found Floracopeia.
The potency and purityof your oils place them in a different class from any other oils I have
experienced. And by “purity” I do not simply refer to the quality of the
oils themselves, but to the whole production/sales team you have assembled.
For your oils feel clean, uncluttered by the kind of emotional/mental debris
that often surrounds otherwise quality oils.
So I thank you all from the depths of my heart for what you are giving to
the world. Salemla
Just thought I would let you know that my family and I consider ourselves essential oil snobs and are very picky about the quality of our oils… We have recently purchased some from your company and
find them to be some of the best therapeutic grade oils we have found so far, and we are not easily impressed! Your Ravensara is wonderful! We definately will be purchasing more in the future. Bless you for your superior standards. Keep up the good work.
On 17 february i got my order : Anahata , the rose-vetiver attar, and the incense vata.
Anahata is amazing…i love it so much. The rose-vetiver is perfect to help to get the interior calm, to push the negative emotions away…to pacify and to balance. From i have it, i use it each day and i like applying some drops on the wrists before sleeping. I’m someone nervous and easily anxious who has a very light sleep and with a tendency to the insomnia and i could note an improvement.
The incense Vata i like using it when i meditate or when i have to concentrate on a work.
Thanks for what you do, thanks to those who work with you.
Blessings and warm regards.
