Floracopeia Blog

Throughout the world, the cost of producing true botanical aromatic treasures has soared. Some of this is from increased production costs, such as fuel; some is due to increased pressure on ecosystems, combined with increased demand; some is due to challenges at the cultivation level that are linked to climate change. The result is that over the last two years we have been paying increasingly high prices for genuine essential oils, from the same network of distillers.
Why is this a juncture for us as a company? Because we could choose, like many companies that reach this point, to go to the world market and purchase inferior products at substantially reduced costs. But this is not the route we are taking.
We are committed to supporting organic farmers, agroforestry projects, and producers of top grade, sustainable aromatic treasures around the world. Rather than compromise this commitment and go down the road of decreased quality for the sake of profitability, we must face what all other ecological companies are now facing: to adjust prices to levels that realistically reflect the true costs of high quality, organic products.
Thank you for your dedicated support over the years, and for your continued support in the future.

We are working to get this posted at the bottom of the blog, as well, but here is the new price list, effective February 15, 2012 http://www.floracopeia.com/pdf/Wholesale Price List EFFECTIVE 2-15-12.pdf
I appreciate you keeping to your core values. The quality and environmental commitment make it well worth the extra cost. I look forward to more information about how your cultivation and extraction practices increase revenue for local communities.
David, I really appreciate and applaud your decision to support small organic farmers and especially your involvement in restorative plant projects so we can enjoy these treasures for years to come. Many thanks for your integrity and committment to the environment.
Though I have only recently been introduced to your company and have yet to purchase from you, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the refreshing attitude you've taken toward quality and to your commitment! Such high integrity is sorely lacking in far too many places these days, and I have the utmost respect and admiration for you - individually and as a company.
I have, on occasions past, considered a similar enterprise. Having done so, I know what you would have been paying for your oils a decade and more ago, and so I consider the prices I've seen for your products to be incredibly reasonable - making your work and contributions all that much more amazing to me. I am glad you've chosen to continue your work, your mission AND your commitment - THANK YOU!
Much love, many blessings, and I look forward to doing business with you in the future!
BRAVO!!
SUSTAINABILITY IS NOT SUSTAINABLE UNLESS IT IS MARKET DRIVEN SUSTAINABILITY! SUSTAINABILITY IS IN THE HANDS OF THE CONSUMER WHO NEED TO SUPPORT THOSE WHO SUPPORT SUSTAINABILITY, AND SUPPORT THOSE TO MAKE THE MONEY TO STAY PROFITABLE AND BE A MODEL FOR OTHER COMPANIES! THIS IS CRUCIAL!

All understandable. When you are providing an unsurpassed product and/or service, your customers don't mind in the least. I have learned so much from Floracopeia. I am inspired by your business model. It's business models like yours that are in demand. Thank you for continuing on. Namaste
I am committed to the passion in which Floracoepia operates its business. I understand the rise of pricing and will continue to support your efforts. The high quality of your oils is paramount in my line of work as a Thai Yoga Therapist, so thank you for taking the "higher road" in global commerce. I greatly appreciate your work for future sustainability.
Thank you, David, for your kind consideration in letting us know about the impending price changes. You truly stand up to your commitment to community and it is because of this commitment that I recommend to all my friends that they only buy Floracopeia products for their good health. May God bless you and everyone associated with such a beautiful mission.
Reading all the love and support that your customers are expressing is beyond hopeful for a future full of integrity, compassion and deep ecology for the planet. If we are all truly stewards, then of course all of us are commited as you are to see Floracopeia continue on the path of rightousness. There is no greater freedom we have than commitment to ourselves as messengers of the plants. BRAVO for standing up and being noticed...we all appreciate you!
I don't like to have to pay more for anything BUT I want only the highest quality oils that Floracopeia sells. I know I can trust David to have only the best sustainable oils and I am willing to pay more when it is necessary. So keep up the good work and many blessings to you.
Thank you for your candid letter. I appreciate that you will not be sacrificing quality and this decision makes me want to support your business even more. Your leadership in operating a business is refreshing and I will continue to buy your products and tell my friends to support also.

Thank you for sending the notice via email as well as posting in your blog.
Although I got to know Floracopeia very recently and have purchased oils just twice, I really love the products and integrity/mission.
I'd greatly appreciate if you can provide us the list of the products, current price & new price.
The integrity with which you operate your business---both from a product and education standpoint---is an inspiration. Your company provides a solid business model---owning a business is not for the faint of heart. Many good wishes...we appreciate all you do---particularly your strong sense of business ethics.
I would rather give more of my hard earned money to a company with integrity - that is having a positive influence on the world - ANY DAY of the week. David and this site have also provided me with a valuable education I would have not had without this access. How to say thanks? No complaints about paying more for the quality I receive from Floracopeia...
This is the right decision. We have to be real about prices and realize that sometimes the more sutainable and virtuous path looks like it costs more. Those are often just the easily visable dollars. What you do is priceless.
Happy to be part of a family who cares in this way.
I am very appreciative for your dedication and integrity David. I also appreciate the appreciation you have received from your customers/friends. It speaks to who you are and the presence you hold.
Blessings,
Barbara
David - I saw you talk at the GreenLife fest in Grass Valley last weekend. I had to leave one of yr talks early - but I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your wisdom so generously with the small group that were present. I felt so lucky to have an intro to your company in this way. And I am very inspired by your projects!
