Like other conifer oils, grand fir is indicated for supporting the respiratory and circulatory system, and for encouraging healthy joints and muscles. A warming oil par excellence, grand fir can help boost circulation; its tonifying and cleansing effects help strengthen the musculoskeletal system and encourage a healthy inflammatory response. In the respiratory tract, grand fir acts to open sinus and breathing passages and is often indicated in inhalation or vapor therapy for respiratory vigor. Its purifying properties also make grand fir a useful choice for boosting immunity during the cold and flu season, in both topical application and vapor therapy.
Possessing a soft, sweetly pine-like fragrance, the aroma of grand fir exerts a calming influence, promoting restful sleep, while at the same time providing an uplifting and refreshing feeling. Fir essential oil is thought to improve mental clarity.
Grand fir oil can be applied topically (always diluted), as a compress, in the bath, through direct inhalation, or diffuser.
Add two drops to bath water to support the respiratory system and muscle and joint health.
Soak hands or feet in a hot bath and six drops grand fir (three drops for the elderly) to encourage healing of joints and muscles, promoting a healthy inflammatory response.
Add 6 drops grand fir to 1 oz. lotion or massage oil and apply to cramping or spasmodic muscles to encourage the body's natural ability to heal.
Diffuse grand fir to deodorize air and promote respiratory health.

The thick-foliage, symmetry, deep green shiny color, and strong, orangish fragrance make grand fir one of the preferred species of Christmas trees grown in the Northwest.
The Grand fir tree’s constituent parts were valuable to the Plateau Indian tribes. The needles were boiled to make a medicinal tea for colds, and the inner bark was used to treat colds and fever. Boughs were brought inside as an air freshener and burned as incense and to make a purifying smoke to ward off illnesses. Needles, dried and crushed, were made into baby powder. The pitch of young trees was mixed with oil to be used as a deodorant and rubbed on the scalp to prevent balding.
Many conifer oils, due to harvesting methods, are subject to contamination such as oil and gas from chain saws, wood chips and branches, which add unwanted resins, petroleum byproducts and turpentine to the final product. The oils that we offer come from either wild harvested or organically cultivated trees, using only the tips and needles, which are hand cut with non-lubricated shears and then distilled in a certified organic still. This guarantees that the distillation produces only the cleanest, most refined oils possible.

We provide our customers with the highest quality essential oils and other botanical aromatic treasures through the promotion of ecological sustainability, organic agriculture, and agro-forestry projects.
Our products are acclaimed for their therapeutic-grade, high quality at affordable prices. We provide artisanal quality oils produced by small family-based distillers. We buy directly from farmers and distillers, thus supporting the local economies in which the plants are grown. We do not buy oils from the world-brokers. Floracopeia is founded with a strong medical orientation and is involved in a number of global eco-projects based in grass roots health care, spirituality, reforestation projects, and the preservation and restoration of ethno-botanical culture.
