Ethically wildcrafted from aged dead wood gathered from the tropical dry forest on Ecuador’s Pacific Coast, Floracopeia’s Palo Santo oil is part of a mosaic of sustainability and sacred ceremony. The Palo Santo or ‘sacred wood’ tree from which the oil derives has an ancient ethnobotanical history and has long been worshipped by indigenous cultures for its purifying powers. Today, the oil is also recognized for its constellation of therapeutic properties, which include its ability to uplift the mood, boost immunity and encourage a healthy inflammatory response.
Bottle Size: 1/2 oz (15 ml)
Palo Santo Essential Oil is rich in limonene. A natural purifier, it can be used to promote deep immunity especially during cold and flu season. A softer and sweeter oil than Frankincense, it is an ideal additive to massage oils.
Palo Santo provides immune boosting effects. Abundant in anti-oxidants, palo santo is useful to promote a healthy inflammatory response in the joints and muscles and for regenerating skin. It has settling, calming and grounding qualities, thus making it a great stress reducer as well as a superb oil for spiritual upliftment.
Palo Santo is said to have an upward-lifting effect traditionally associated with this essential oil. Often used for shamanic ritual, it is a valuable tool for meditation, enhancing creativity, and for tasks requiring sustained concentration.
Palo santo can be applied topically, as a compress, in the bath, through direct inhalation, or diffuser.
Add to a carrier oil for an all over massage to support immune system function and healthy joints and muscles.
Use a few drops in vapor therapy to support immune function during cold and flu season.
Direct palm inhalation of one to two drops can be used to uplift the mood, calm and settle the mind, and promote a sense of peace (a drop of frankincense may also be added).
Diffuse Palo santo to ground, settle and calm the body, mind and spirit.
Diffuse with a few drops of lemon and one drop of peppermint to improve concentration.
Palo Santo Oil Recipes:
Detoxification Support (bath salt blend): 2 drops palo santo, 2 drops grapefruit, 2 drops cypress, 2 drops palmarosa in 1 cup Dead Sea or Epsom salts
Shamanic journey blend: 2 drops palo santo, 4 drops jasmine, 2 drops sandalwood, 1 drop cedarwood in 15 ml marula oil
To harvest the oil, only dead trees that have been left lying on the ground for a minimum of two years can be used. The resin is driven into the heartwood when the wood dies and matures, developing it's unique and powerful chemistry. The average life of the Palo Santo tree is between 80 and 90 years.
Redolent of citrus and balsam, Palo Santo, like its cousin Frankincense, belongs to the category of “spiritual oils,” renowned for their esoteric and numinous character. This distillation is highly therapeutic and intriguingly complex.
For every liter of Palo Santo oil that Floracopeia purchases, we donate $25 to help replant these endangered trees.
