Originally considered a holy oil for purification and healing, rosemary verbenone now finds widespread use in treating chronic skin and hair conditions, in respiratory congestion, and in rheumatic complaints. Its warming, invigorating qualities stimulate blood flow and tissue regeneration, which in turn brightens dull skin, and effectively treats acne, eczema and psoriasis. The oil is also beneficial to a variety of hair and scalp conditions.
As a superior tonic, rosemary relieves muscular stiffness, cramping, and aches and pains of the joints, and lessens the symptoms of arthritis and rheumatism. It has the highest hydrogen content of all essential oils, making it powerfully warming and stimulating. An expectorant, rosemary essential oil provides support for the respiratory system, relieving colds, coughs, congestion, and bronchitis. The brain and nervous system also benefit from rosemary's stimulating properties, and its ability to enhance mental clarity and lessen fatigue.

Not only does this oil smell the most like a live rosemary plant of any I have ever tasted, it does what it is claimed to do: stimulate hair growth. I successfully treated seasonal alopecia in my dog by mixing a few drops of rosemary verbenone into a base of sesame oil and annointing the bald spot daily for about a week. Before I even got her to the vet, who pronounced melatonin the cure, she had hair growth starting and it continued to fill in beautifully. I now add it to my own unscented hair conditioner, along with some clary sage and vanilla. Lovely.
