How To Make Your Own Facial Steam

- Simmer a generous handful of fresh herbs or two tbsp. dried herbs in a large pot of water for about three minutes - Remove the pot from the stove, add essential oils if you wish, and use a towel to cover your head and the pot, keeping your face at least 8 inches from the water - Breathe slowly and mindfully for 5-8 minutes - Pat dry, and finish with a spritz of hydrosol and a moisturizing serum [divider style="10"]

Facial Steams for Mature & Dry Skin

These facial steams are gentle and hydrating. Rejuvenative flowers provide great support for these skin types that often have low sebum production. Rose, Helichrysum, Cowslip Petals, Borage, Chamomile, Neroli, and Comfrey leaves are excellent choices for these skin types. Less is more! This ritual is most effective for mature and dry skin when used no more than once a week for 5 minutes or less.

Herbal facial steams can be a source of relief for oily and acne-prone skin, helping to detoxify and balance the skin. Use soothing, anti-inflammatory herbal steams to address oil overproduction that clogs pores. Some favorites are Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Witch Hazel, and Rose. This skin type does well with a steam twice weekly for 5-8 minutes.
